Rug cleaning that starts with the fibre, not the machine.
Wool, cotton, silk blends and synthetics all behave differently once water is involved. We identify the rug first, clean it to suit the fibre, and send matching before and after photos.
- Fibre identified first
- Photo-backed report
- Treatment risk insured
A rug is not just a small carpet
Rugs are woven and backed differently from fitted carpet, and many carry dyes that move once they are wet. We check the fibre and test for colour-fastness in a hidden corner before anything else happens.
Our process runs in stages. A thorough vacuum lifts the grit sitting deep in the pile, a pre-spray loosens what is bonded to the fibre, a counter-rotating brush works it through, and extraction takes it away. Air movers cut the drying time, and you choose the fragrance we finish with.
Fringes, edges and backing are worked by hand rather than by machine, because that is where a rug is most easily damaged.
What's included

What happens on the day
01Fibre check
We identify what the rug is made of and test a hidden corner for colour-fastness.
02Dry vacuum
A thorough vacuum first, which lifts grit that domestic machines leave deep in the pile.
03Clean and agitate
A pre-spray loosens the soil, then a counter-rotating brush works it through before extraction.
04Dry and report
Air movers bring the drying time down, then matching before and after photos come over.
You don't have to take our word for it
Every job includes matching before and after photography, taken in the same spot and the same light. Here is recent work, including a hallway runner.

Rug cleaning FAQs
Can you clean wool rugs?
Yes. Wool is the most common rug fibre we see and it cleans well, though it holds water, so drying takes longer than a synthetic. We test a hidden corner for colour-fastness first and tell you before we start if we have any concern.
How long will my rug take to dry?
Most rugs are dry to the touch within a few hours and fully dry within 24, depending on the fibre and how well the room is ventilated. Wool takes the longest. Air movers bring that down before we leave.
Do you clean the fringes?
Yes, by hand. Fringes are the part of a rug most easily damaged by machine work, so they are cleaned separately and more slowly.
Could cleaning shrink my rug or make the colours run?
That is what the colour-fast test is for. We check a hidden corner before any product goes near the visible pile, and if a rug is not safe to clean we say so rather than take the risk with it.
You say insured. Insured for what, exactly?
Public liability on its own does not cover damage to the thing being cleaned. Our policy adds treatment risk and damage to property worked upon, up to £2 million, which is the cover that actually applies if a carpet or a sofa is damaged during a clean.
It is worth asking any carpet cleaner for that specifically. Plenty carry public liability alone and still describe themselves as fully insured, and the difference only shows up at the point you need it.

Communication from the start was spot on. Victor who did the job was brilliant and extremely professional. He even managed to get up some spots of black paint which I had spilt and finished the job with some lovely carpet spray which smelt of fresh washing. My carpet is spotless! Victor also told me that Esper's do upholstery so I will definitely be re-booking to have my sofas cleaned. Pricing was fantastic too! Five Star experience all round.Posted on Google katie DayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic service from start to finish. Tom was absolutely amazing. He came to our house at very short notice after we had just moved into our new property and unfortunately found the carpets to be in an awful state. He stayed for hours, working relentlessly and repeatedly going over the toughest areas to remove the stains and dirt to the absolute best of his ability. Our main priority was to get the house as dust-free, clean and hygienic as possible, particularly as we have young children with dust allergies. I can say with certainty that, so far, we have had no issues since Tom finished the job, which is a huge difference compared with before he came. Tom is an absolute diamond of a man and went well beyond what we had actually booked him for. I was also struggling with a leaking tap underneath the kitchen sink, another problem we discovered after moving in. Tom initially took the time to explain to me how to fix it myself, but when I couldn’t manage it, he went out of his way to help. He ended up fitting the kitchen tap properly and identifying and fixing THREE separate leaks in the same area! I would have been absolutely lost without his help and support yesterday. His colleague Victor was also fantastic — very friendly, respectful and professional. Nothing seemed too much trouble for either of them. The carpets looked fantastic afterwards and, even better, the whole house smelled amazing from the linen fragrance my wife chose! We will 100% be calling Tom again in the future for any similar work. Once we get our sofas out of storage, if they need cleaning, Tom will be the first person I think of calling. Thank you again, Tom and Victor, for all your hard work and for going so far above and beyond what was expected. Based on the service you provided us, I have absolutely no doubt you’ll continue to do very well. All the best for the future, Tom — genuinely highly recommended!Posted on Google Gerda BerntsenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
