Carpet Cleaning in Childwall

Carpet cleaning in Childwall, where a lot of the carpet is wool.

Childwall is about three miles from us, across the Liverpool boundary. Carpets, rugs, upholstery and mattresses across L16 and L25, including Gateacre and Belle Vale.

How it works

Wool does not behave like synthetic, and Childwall has plenty of it

The interwar semis around Childwall and the larger houses towards the golf course tend to have better carpet than average, and a good proportion of it is wool. Wool holds water far longer than synthetic, it can shrink if it is over-wetted, and the colour needs testing before anything goes near it. That is worth knowing before you book whoever quotes cheapest.

The clean itself runs in stages. We vacuum thoroughly before any moisture goes down, which lifts dry soil that domestic vacuums leave behind in the pile. A pre-spray loosens what is bonded to the fibre, a counter-rotating brush works it through, and extraction takes it away. Air movers cut the drying time, and you choose the fragrance we finish with.

Common questions

Carpet cleaning in Childwall: common questions

How long does a carpet take to dry?

Most carpets are dry to walk on within 4–6 hours, and fully dry within 24 hours depending on room ventilation.

In most cases, yes. Deep-set or repeated contamination may need a separate pet treatment — we’ll always inspect and tell you honestly before quoting.

No. Childwall is inside our normal working area and there is no travel charge for it. We are based in Whiston, about three miles away, which is why we can get to you without building a call-out fee into the price.

We cover L16 and L25, along with Gateacre, Belle Vale, Woolton, Wavertree and Broadgreen. If you are just outside that and not sure, send us the postcode and we will tell you straight away rather than leave you guessing.

Public liability on its own does not cover damage to the thing being cleaned. Our policy adds treatment risk and damage to property worked upon, up to £2 million, which is the cover that actually applies if a carpet or a sofa is damaged during a clean.

It is worth asking any carpet cleaner for that specifically. Plenty carry public liability alone and still describe themselves as fully insured, and the difference only shows up at the point you need it.

Usually, but it has to be treated differently from synthetic. Wool holds water much longer, it can shrink if it is over-wetted, and the dyes in older carpet are not always colour-fast.

We identify the fibre and test the colour somewhere hidden before anything goes near the visible pile. If we are not happy with how it reacts, we will say so rather than take the risk with your carpet.
